Frequently Asked Questions

How can I start working with you?

Contact me through the chat option on this website, or by using the contact us button at the top of this page for your free 20 minute consultation. We will then discuss whether ENA consulting is the right team to support you and if so, we will arrange an initial assessment appointment where we will have around 90-120 minutes to gain a deeper understanding of what is happening at home.

Why do you only offer 6-8 sessions? What happens if I feel I would like more support?

Short term work allows us to be specific and focus on one to two goals at a time. Through my experience, short term work helps families to put in strategies consistently, as well as ensuring there is not too much change in the young person's environment all at once. If a family felt further work was required after this, we may suggest for there to be a short break in between peices of work to ensure that strategies are being implemented consistently before introducing something new

Do you provide face to face sessions or is all work completed virtually?

Currently, the majority of our work is offered virtually so that we are able to reach more families. However, there may be the possibility of attending some face to face sessions in North Hertfordshire at an additional cost. If this is something that you would prefer and this location is within reach for you, please contact us to discuss this option further.

How much do you charge?

We have tried to offer support for a range of budgets. Our recorded workshops start at £30, our parent group workshops start at £50 per family, and our one-to-one work is £85 per session, however we offer a discount when either 4 or 6 sessions are booked together.

What should I prepare for my initial assessment?

Once we have had your free consultation and it seems as though our service could be supportive for you, we will send you an email with a link so you can book the appointment. On the day of the appointment, just click the link in your email and just bring yourself (with a cup of tea if you fancy!). If it feels appropriate, we would love to meet your young person at this meeting so it would be helpful if they can be prepped by knowing who we are and why you have contacted us. If you would like a social story or an easy read guide on who we are so you can present this to them, please let us know.

Why do you only offer work with parents and not the children?

There have been multiple studies that have shown the effectiveness of parent training around behaviours which challenge (Fettig & Ostrosky, 2011; Barlow, 2018). I have also been working directly with parents for seven years and have seen the impact on the environmental changes and skills they are able to teach their young person in the home which can reduce behaviours.
